Are you a driven and ambitious individual with compassionate leadership qualities? An opportunity has arisen to join our Clinical Health Psychology team on a full time permanent contract working as the Head of Clinical Health Psychology Service
Joining our service. you will aim toto achieve the best outcomes for our service users, carers and communities.
As a trusted advisor, you will specialise in guiding organizations such as ICS, Local Authorities, and VSCE on the optimal service levels and resources needed to achieve their goals. You will be dedicated to representing the Trust and the psychological professions at all levels, ensuring their support and integration in various settings.
You will take corporate responsibility and be accountable for the clinical, professional, strategic and operational management of the Department of Clinical Health Psychology.Elsewhere, you will act as the Chief Psychological Professions Officer (CPPO) for the organisation.

Main duties of the job
- Strategically lead the retention, recruitment and development of the psychological professions' workforce, and will be the strategic lead for new psychological profession roles in the Trust.
- The post-holder will contribute to the clinical governance and professional leadership agenda across the ICO.
- Participate in monthly CPPO seminars disseminating professional information across the organisation.
- Provide an agreed level of highly complex clinical work in an area of specialty and expertise.
- Lead and develop the clinical psychological services model in line with the NHS Long-term plan and integrated delivery aspirations.
- To form part of the leadership team of the Planned Care Care Group and support / deputise as required.
- To lead and develop psychological therapies in line with the national strategic and ICO priorities
- Work in close liaison with Devon Partnership Trust and other ICO partners to ensure best practice and parity and access to resource across Torbay and South Devon.
- Be part of the professional practice advisory group for the organisation and represent the specialty externally.

- To provide and undertake complex and speciality assessment and treatment of patients and be entirely responsible for the delivery of appropriate highly complex psychological treatment.
- To overcome significant barriers to acceptance of sometimes contentious information for social, religious, cultural and other reasons and will be required to utilise sensitive and well developed interpersonal and communication skills and tact.
- Assessment and intervention will be based on the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex information / data from a variety of sources including psychometric and psychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, clinical interviews and direct observation.
- To formulate plans and consider clinical management options for the formal psychological treatment and longer-term management of patients complex psychological problems based on an appropriate conceptual evidence-based framework of presenting problems and psychosocial context.
