Job summary
We're seeking a permanent, full time band 5 Physiotherapist to join our Trust.
Our 17 rotations are based in both acute and primary care settings covering a range of experience in MSK , respiratory, trauma and orthopedics, neurology, healthcare of the older person, community and intermediate care. Rotations will include opportunities to work in community hospitals, the acute setting, care homes and patients own homes.
The ability to be mobile across a wide geographical area is essential with reduced reliance on public transport. Ideally the post holder will hold a valid driving licence. Support and development includes a preceptorship scheme, mentorship with a named senior Physiotherapist , rotational clinical supervision and competencies and access to a wide range of development opportunities. Working across 7 days will be required, including commitment to an on call service within the acute hospital. Post holder will be required to be proactive and complete on call competencies and they will be allocated a named senior on call buddy.
We provide an excellent opportunity for Band 5 physiotherapists to develop their skills and gain the foundations for their future careers. Main duties of the job
To participate in the Physiotherapy rotational scheme, which involves working across Torbay and South Devon Healthcare Trust sites in a range of ward settings, out-patient departments, intermediate care facilities, patients own homes and community facilities.
To provide a high standard of physiotherapy service to general musculoskeletal out-patients, in and outpatient trauma and orthopaedics, medical and surgical, neurology, elderly and intermediate care, community rehabilitation and specialist rehabilitation services. Specialist inpatient services in ICU and CCU.
Deputise for more senior staff in their absence, taking responsibility for allocating and organising / delegating the work of physiotherapy assistant staff to meet priorities on a daily basis.
To work autonomously and also as part of a multidisciplinary team to facilitate flow through the healthcare system, planning and facilitating discharge, responding to urgent referrals in a variety of settings and maintaining standards within a governance framework.
