Are you an Employee Relations experienced manager, ready to lead and develop an expanding team of employment law and employee relations specialists; to deliver a modern customer focused service, providing employee relations advice, support and coaching to over 6000 staff; whilst training and developing managers to embrace and have confidence applying the new People policies that will be rewritten to align with just and learning principles?

Main duties of the job
The Employee Relations Service Manager plays a key leadership role in the People Directorate, influencing and leading the delivery of Trust operational and strategic objectives outlined in our People Promise. Working collaboratively across the management team, they lead inclusively, listening to and acting on the trends of employee relations cases and the Employee Relations team. The main duties of the job are:
To develop a modern Employee Relations service to enhance the experience of our colleagues at work, having a positive impact on the experience of our communities who use our health and care services
To play a key leadership role in the implementation and embedding of 'just and learning culture' principles, positively impacting the overall culture within the organisation
Leading the development and implementation of a modern framework of people policies (ER) that are in alignment with a 'just and learning culture' in all aspects of organisational life.
Driving and influencing process change, redesign, efficiency, and productivity across Employee Relations services that will contribute to the delivery of one of the key objectives of Our People Promise
Driving the production of useful and insightful management information from Employee Relations activities, that can be used across the People directorate to inform prioritisation of organisation development, leadership and management training and activity.

The Employee Relations team are employment law and employee relations specialists who work alongside managers and staff to advise and coach on the application of Employee Relations policies, support attendance reviews and employee relations cases.
Our team also offer a 24-hour response advisory service via the Employee Relations Helpdesk, which is available to all colleagues (individuals and managers) from 09:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday

Essential
- Extensive experience in employee relations, with examples of leading very complex cases working in partnership with staff side representatives and satisfying stakeholders in conflict
- Demonstrable leadership experience, including management of a team in a challenging environment with shifting priorities.
- Well-developed experience in implementation of People strategy into practice, change management and transformation
- Demonstrable experience in the strategic management of employment tribunal claims including liaising with external legal professionals, ACAS, professional bodies etc.
- Educated to a Master's level in HR field or equivalent work experience and knowledge in a range of areas e.g. Employee Relations, Organisational Development, Equality and Diversity, Learning and Development.
- Chartered Institute of Personnel Development Member (MCIPD) or equivalent experience
Desirable
- Chartered Institute of Personnel Development Fellow (FCIPD) or equivalent experience
- Degree or other specific qualification in Employment Law or Leadership/Management qualification or equivalent experience to degree level
