Job summary
We are looking for an Advanced Podiatrist specialising in Rheumatology at Band 7 within in our Podiatry department.
You will develop, lead, provide and evaluate a specialist podiatric rheumatology service that optimises the health of patients with rheumatology disease and ensures the service is implemented within timeframes and existing resources.
Providing professional clinical leadership for all staff within Podiatry and the rheumatology multi-disciplinary team (MDT) , thus ensuring standards of clinical expertise and excellence in specialist care are continually maintained and improved.
Main duties of the job
- Be responsible for the management of a caseload of patients, providing a comprehensive range of specialist podiatric interventions to include biomechanical assessment, prescription of orthoses, steroid injection therapy, ultrasound scanning, wound care and other therapeutic interventions.
- To liaise with other health and social care professionals in ensuring seamless delivery of care to the patients with rheumatology foot disease.
- The clinics will be run at Torbay and Newton Abbot hospitals and they will work closely with Podiatrists, GP's and rheumatology consultants, OTs, physiotherapists, orthotists in secondary care and will also include community clinics when indicated.
About us
The podiatry department consists of 45 clinical comprising of Head of Service, Team Leads, Specialist podiatrists, podiatrists, assistant practitioners and clinical support staff . We also have 10 admin staff.
This role will involve close working with the rheumatology team , including consultants, OTs, physiotherapists and orthotists
We aim to innovatively deliver first class lower limb and foot health preventative care across South Devon. We strive to achieve better outcomes for our patients whilst we also actively promote development opportunities for our staff.
