Job summary

As Data Quality Lead you will provide support and guidance to the Application Management Services Team and Information Asset Owner Community across Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust, in the quality, management and compliance of Clinical and Personal data.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide guidance to the Application Management Services Team and Information Asset Owners in data compliance processes & completion of the relevant documentation including data sharing agreements, privacy notices, data maps and DPIA's
  • Investigate Datix and data related support incidents related to systems supported by the Application Management Services team and, where appropriate, the wider Information Asset Owners. Operational Teams and Clinical Leads and collate an action plan to resolve. Oversee the action plan across multiple teams to ensure completion,
  • Analyse complex data corruptions and inaccuracies and devise a resolution plan across multiple teams, manage actions to completion
  • Represent the AMS team in project meetings related to implementation of new systems and interfaces, ensuring relevant data quality documentation is in place as part of the handover to BAU support.
  • Represent the AMS team and wider IAO network at regular meetings related to Data Quality such as the Information Assurance Group, project checkpoint meetings, ad hoc support, and project meetings to discuss specific data quality issues

About us

The AMS department are responsible for the support, development and administration services of the core systems used in the day to day clinical, administrative, and operational activities of the Trust, utilising 3rdparty systems and bespoke developments. The team provide services for core Trust activity including:

  • 20+ 3rd Party Clinical Systems and bespoke Apps used to support daily Clinical activity
  • 40+ interfaces including Patient registrations, updates, and appointments, populating document repository and letters & results to GP's
  • data feeds from Clinical systems to the Clinical Portal creating a consolidated patient record viewer
  • inpatient, outpatient and breast screening reminder texts and rules-based alerts for abnormal lab results and patient activity for managed cohorts of patients with long term conditions (e.g., diabetes, MS, stoma, and heart failure)
  • user management and support for queries and issues for over 3,000 users across multiple systems
  • core patient activity e.g., 24,000 patient letters, 700 inpatient episodes and 2,500 care plan summaries produced monthly
  • system patches and upgrades to ensure supported versions and security levels maintained
