Job summary

We are seeking to recruit a passionate and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to work in our highly valued nursery working 15 hours per week on a Monday and Tuesday for up to 10 months (fixed term) in a maternity cover post. The ideal candidate will need to have a creative imagination, sing (tunefully or not), enjoy telling storied that come alive and answer questions put to them by curious little minds! #CareToJoinUsTSD

More importantly, you must be ready to become part of our friendly team and share the same vision to be the best that we can be in caring for and educating our next generation of excited and enthusiastic learners..

You will have a sound knowledge of the EYFS, have effective communication skills and be able to work collaboratively in a large team. You should have an excellent knowledge of child development, safeguarding and be able to demonstrate a high level of practice and knowledge with children.

This post will be based predominantly within one of the age group rooms within the nursery, with the under 2's, but you will be required to work with all age ranges as and when needed, and may be moved to different rooms to meet the requirements of the service.

Main duties of the job

To work within a 54 place Day Nursery, caring for children from 3 months to 5 years. The post holder will be required to have a wealth of experience of children ranging from babies to preschool.

The post holder will have an outstanding knowledge of the EYFS and be able to provide exemplary care and education to children and babies.
