This role is for a full time band 7 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join the Neurodiversity Pathway. This is an exciting time to join CFHD and to be a part of a newly forming team offering intervention and undertaking clinical assessments. This role involves working within a specialist multi disciplinary team and liaising, and working closely with colleagues both within CFHD, and with other organisations.
The role will include offering clinical supervision to team members, and receiving clinical supervision from the speech and language therapist professional lead.
Main duties of the job
- Hold an appropriate caseload and undertake a lead clinician role for children receiving intervention from within the specialist pathway.
- Undertake specialist assessments.
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- To clinically supervise, and support Speech and Language Therapists working within the Neurodiversity Pathway in Torbay and South Devon.
- To link closely with Speech and Language Therapists across Devon.
- To become a member of the L and G group, to ensure consistency of approaches across Devon.
- Ensure clinical effectiveness through the use of evidence-based interventions, goal-based, collaborative practice and routine outcome measures.
- To support the screening and triage process, and be part of the duty team.

The Neurodiversity Pathway is a developing integrated pathway with CFHD. The proposed Integrated Neurodiversity Pathway will provide specialist assessment and intervention for children and young people with neurodiversity.
The community integrated team will bring together a variety of disciplines from across CAMHS and Specialist Children's services, Community Paediatrics, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Psychological therapies, and Clinical Psychology.
