Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Torbay and South Devon, for two roles to join the Nursing and Midwifery Excellence team.

These roles will be integral to the delivery of the professional standards portfolio and the Nursing and Midwifery Excellence strategy. You will be working alongside the Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Lead nurse in delivering the Trust objectives.

Each post holder will hold a specific portfolio. Both portfolios underpinned by Shared Decision Making and our Assessment & Accreditation framework as our way of monitoring professional standards within Torbay and South Devon Foundation Trust.

The post holders must be dynamic, have excellent leadership skills and a passion for creating a positive practice environment.

Main duties of the job

You will be joining the team at a pivotal time in our Nursing and Midwifery Excellence journey across Torbay and South Devon.

  • Bringing together a collective leadership model to demonstrate nursing and midwifery excellence within the organisation.
  • To use leadership, experience, passion and enthusiasm to drive changes within the organisation.
  • To be a role model of the highest standards and expert in their portfolio across the organisation.
  • The opportunity to network with colleagues globally to enhance the organisation.
  • To provide excellent leadership skills in embedding the core principles and values of Pathway to Excellence across the organisation.
  • Work with the Nursing and Midwifery lead nurse in ensuring the development of a local Pathway to Excellence evidence base, ward accreditation, DAISY recognition awards, shard governance and Magnet recognition.
  • To model a collaborative and influencing style of working, negotiating with others to achieve the best outcomes. Embedding this approach across the organisation
  • Support the development of a comprehensive submission reflective of the relevant achievements, outcomes and successes of the organisation for Pathway to Excellence and Magnet4Europe.
