Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic, evolving surgical team as an Admin Team Leader, managing the insourcing and outsourcing of surgical patients.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing the team with day to day leadership and supervision. Ideally you will be an experienced administrator with proven supervisory experience within a Healthcare setting.
We are looking for a person who has a positive, 'can do' attitude with excellent communication skills.
An understanding of waiting list management and the planned care surgical pathway would be advantageous but not a deal breaker.
An 'ideas person' with a pro active approach would be brilliant and would make a fabulous addition to the management team.
The successful candidate will be working closely with the Practice Manager and Service Development and in partnership with specialty specific colleagues to provide a quality, effective, efficient, patient centred service.

Main duties of the job
To provide direct line management support and supervision of the inpatient and daycase insourcing/ outsourcing administration service, ensuring strict compliance with the Trust Access policy, along with other trust policies and procedures.
Act as first point of contact and liaison for the admissions team including managing their planned and unplanned leave, departmental inductions and training.
To proactively work with the Practice Manager and Service Development Manager to ensure the general smooth running of non clinical services are optimized to meet the needs of the service.
To support service development projects as directed to ensure the service and all processes remain fit for purpose and are meeting the changing needs of the department.

The Team is closely supported by the Admin Team Leader, the Practice Manager and Service Development Manager.
The admin teams are key to ensuring the very busy department runs smoothly and efficiently. It is therefore important that each member of the team works well under pressure, is a team player but equally as important that they are able to work independently and prioritise workload effectively. The admin team leader role is to support the team in this with effective line management.
