Job summary
We are looking for a Physiotherapist to cover medical patients on 40 beds over two wards at Newton Abbot Hospital. This will include patients with a wide variety of conditions including general medical, orthopaedic and long-term conditions. We also run a weekend service and the successful candidate would also have a role in supporting rotational Band 5 Physiotherapists and students. We have vacancies at a Full and Part Time capacity.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a Band 6 Physiotherapist for a permanent full time position who has experience in a variety of settings in the NHS.
Under the supervision of the B7 Inpatient Therapy Manager to be responsible for the continued development of the Physiotherapy service within the Newton Abbot community hospital wards.
To explore innovative new ways of delivering inpatient services to facilitate speedier discharges from Newton Abbot Hospital; work with colleagues e.g. Inpatient Therapy Manager and B6 physio colleagues to implement and evaluate changes in the service.

- Diploma/degree in physiotherapy
- State registration - current HCPC certificate. Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio, including attendance at recent Postgraduate courses relevant to the clinical field
- Proven relevant experience as a Band 5 Physiotherapist in a broad rotational post covering a range of experience in respiratory orthopaedics, elderly care, medical, surgical, neurological and musculoskeletal conditions
Desirable
- Post graduate training/experience in respiratory
