Job summary

Torbay Pharmaceuticals(TP) have a fantastic opportunity within the Quality Control (QC)Microbiology Lab, to join us as a Lead Analyst!

The QC Lead Analyst role is required to support and lead the Microbiology laboratory Analyst's to ensure the analysis of starting materials, finished products, cleaning and process validation samples are tested in accordance with cGMP and approved specifications meeting strict deadlines. Ideally we are looking for someone who has previous experience in a similar role, with strong interpersonal skills

You will be responsible for ensuring that all tasks performed in the laboratory meet the required standards laid down by the Pharmaceutical Quality System and in accordance with cGMP regulations and Torbay Pharmaceuticals manufacturing licenses and product specific marketing authorisations.

You will also be required to undertake passive and active environmental monitoring of clean rooms, which will include wearing specialist cleanroom gowning to minimise contamination

Working Pattern: The post holder will work 8 hour day shifts - but will at times be required to participate in the department rota which includes a combination of early and late shifts - Shift Patterns: 07.00 - 15.00 & 14.00 - 22.00 (rotational), Flexible 08.30 - 16.30

Main duties of the job

  • Microbial plate reading that involves accurately reading settle and contact plates and identification of any isolates counted as per procedures.
  • Bacterial Endotoxin Testing.
  • Sterility Testing.
  • Microbial Enumeration and absence of specified organism testing.
  • Validation of test methods as per approved protocols.
  • Ensure that all tasks performed meet the required standards laid down by the Pharmaceutical Quality System and in accordance with cGMP regulations and Torbay Pharmaceuticals manufacturing licenses and product specific marketing authorisations.
  • Day to day supervision of the team of Analysts, to include but not limited to, annual reviews, absence review, rota allocation.
