Experienced Band 6 MSK / Hydrotherapy Physiotherapist:
- Permanent post - Torbay Hospital 37.5hrs (25hrs MSK / 12.5hrs Hydrotherapy)
We are looking for a permanent full-time Band 6 Musculo-skeletal (MSK) / Hydrotherapy Physiotherapist to join the Torbay and South Devon MSK service within this split post, based at Torbay Hospital. This is an ideal opportunity for a physiotherapist who enjoys the challenge of a varied, often complex clinical caseload, and wishes to develop their diagnostic, clinical reasoning and rehabilitation skills further.
Our innovative MSK physiotherapy service offers rapid access, self-referral and the well-established Single Point of Access (SPoA) pathways from physiotherapy into orthopaedics for patients with hip, knee and spinal conditions.
CPD is at the forefront of our service, ensuring we offer high quality care to our patients. We host external courses, provide funding for training and deliver service wide training events to support your CPD.

Main duties of the job
To provide a high standard of physiotherapy service to people presenting at musculoskeletal (MSK) outpatient and hydrotherapy clinics based in physiotherapy departments across South Devon. There is a rapid access booking system in place with up to 50% of patients self-referring.
To act as a source of expertise on the assessment and management of general MSK and hydrotherapy patients to patients, physiotherapists, student physiotherapists, assistants/technical instructors, other healthcare professionals, G.P's, and consultants.
To educate and train physiotherapists, students, and other healthcare professionals in physiotherapeutic management of general MSK and hydrotherapy conditions requiring an inpatient episode.

Essential
- Diploma / degree in physiotherapy
- State registration - current HCPC certificate
- Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio
- Experience within the NHS as a Band 5 physiotherapist working in a range of clinical settings, including the musculoskeletal field.
Desirable
- Qualification in acupuncture
- Post graduate qualification in Maitland's/Society of Orthopaedic Medicine/McKenzie

Knowledge and Skills

- Advanced working knowledge of a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions.

- Sound assessment skills with clinical reasoning and analytical ability.
- Proven ability of complex case management.
