Advanced Practitioner Ambulatory Care

Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Practitioner with experience in Cancer Services to join us at Bristol Haematology Oncology Centre (BHOC) as part of our team establishing a new Ambulatory Care Unit. This Unit will deliver innovative pathways to support patients receiving SACT, BMT, CAR-T and other novel therapies, allowing them. Working in partnership with the Supervisory Nursing leadership and Specialist Cancer pharmacist you will be at the forefront of developing the operations of the unit and ensuring safe, effective, efficient practices, assessing, planning and delivering care to patients.

You will work closely with the SDEC team with in BHOC to ensure that the best use is made of elective, urgent / emergency and inpatient pathways through the BHOC.

Application is open to qualified APs and we would also welcome enquiries or applications from professionals already working towards achieving MSc in Advanced Practice. A non-medical prescribing qualification will be essential to the role, and must at least already be in progress at the point of application.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and driven to improve patient care and experience and have a commitment to team working and quality improvement.

Main duties of the job

Demonstrating highly developed specialist knowledge and skills, the post holder will be an integral member of the Ambulatory Care Unit team, providing clinical assessment and supporting the care and treatment of a diverse caseload of patients requiring specialist care. They will also contribute clinical expertise to the development and enhancement of the service. They will be committed to the further education of themselves and others.

The post holder will work alongside medical, nursing, and allied health professional teams, maintaining strong communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. As such, they will be a highly visible and approachable role model who embodies the four pillars of advanced practice.
