Job summary
Applications are invited for an NHS funded post of Consultant in Restorative Dentistry Services at the Bristol Dental Hospital; part time 9 PA's on a temporary contract to cover a period of maternity leave. The appointee will be welcomed within an integrated and collegiate Restorative Dentistry services team.
There is no on-call commitment. The post holder(s) will be expected to provide clinical leadership, dental advice and treatment within the specialty of Restorative Dentistry and for patients requiring oral and dental rehabilitation as part of developmental disorders including cleft lip and palate, hypodontia, head and neck cancer major trauma and periodontaology. An interest in trauma, endodontics and dental implant surgery would also be an advantage.
This post is funded for 9 PAs in total. The post is to cover a colleague taking maternity leave until May 2026.

- Fully registered with GDC
- Certification of completion of specialist training (CCT) (or equivalent, OR Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) at the point of interview
- Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (or equivalent)
- On the GDC's Specialist Register for Restorative Dentistry (will consider (Perio, Endo or Pros) to start Consultant appointment
- Candidates can be within 6 months of gaining CCT at the date of interview. Please note this does not apply to CESR applications

- Higher academic qualification e.g. MD, PhD or equivalent
