Job summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Scientist to join our dynamic Audiology team across St Michael's Hospital and Southmead Hospital in Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a forward-thinking service that delivers high-quality care to patients with complex auditory needs.
As a Band 7 Clinical Scientist, you will play a key role in providing advanced diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology services, supporting clinical decision-making, and contributing to service development. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient-centred care and uphold the highest standards of clinical practice.
Final year/recent STP Graduates are encouraged to apply.
Main duties of the job
- Deliver specialist audiological assessments and interventions for adults and children with complex hearing needs.
- Provide expert advice and support to clinical colleagues and trainees.
- Contribute to research, audit, and quality improvement initiatives within the department.
- Assist in the development and implementation of evidence-based protocols and guidelines.
- Participate in teaching and training activities for staff and students.

- oGood knowledge base in all aspects of Adult Audiology
- oExperience in autonomously performing diagnostic audiovestibular investigations including creating management plans (calorics, vHIT, cVEMP)
Desirable
- oMinimum of 2 years relevant post qualification experience
- oExperience of teaching/training of staff
- oExperience performing objective audiological assessments such as corticals, ABR, OAEs
- oExperience of running a balance rehabilitation clinic
- oExperience testing and treating BPPV (eg Epley and BBQ roll)
- oExperience contributing to research/audit

- oRecognised training in areas of vestibular investigation and rehabilitation including certificates in the practical assessments for DAV
