Main duties of the job

Whatyou'lldo

You'llspend8 sessions a weekteachingundergraduate students from the University of Bristol and2 sessions a weekina specialty of your choice.You'llalso have the chance to complete afully funded Certificate in Teaching & Learning for Healthcare Professionals.

Teaching responsibilitiesfocus on the Child Health block of the MBChB curriculum, encompassing:

  • Classroom based teaching:occasional cover for CBL sessions on behalf of Consultant Tutors

  • Simulation:two days per 6-week block on Paediatric emergencies and common problems

  • Bedside teaching:regular small-group sessions at the bedside on specific systems

  • Mock OSCES:once per block, you willbe responsible forplanning and running the Mock OSCE

You will alsohave the opportunity tohelp outwith other year groupteaching,andhelpingrun assessments both locally and with the Medical School.

The post holder will alsobe responsible forsupportinga small team ofjuniorPaediatricClinicalEducationFellows,and fororganisingthe timetable for the Child Health programme alongside an experienced administrator.

Clinical Work

You can undertake up toone day per week (average)of clinical work inanyspecialty that interests you. These sessions are flexible, and there isno out-of-hourscommitment.
