Job summary
We are looking for an experienced nurse with an upper GI and oncological interest, for an exciting opportunity to join Bristol's regional Upper GI CNS Cancer service as a full time band 6 CNS, caring for patients across the southwest peninsular.
As a cancer clinical nurse specialist, you will support patients and families through their cancer diagnosis and treatment, within the Oesophago-gastric and Hepato-pancreato-biliary speciality.
You will gain skills and experience in communicating with the multi-professional teams within primary care and secondary care, across the network. Skilfully signposting to services and arranging care for our patients' and providing psychological support.
You will gain specialist knowledge in both UGI surgery and Oncology and participate in national research and conferences. You will participate in staff education and present patient cases at the cancer MDT (multidisciplinary meeting)
