Job summary
Hours: Part-time - 7.5 hours per week (one day, Tuesday)Summary:We are seeking an experienced Highly Specialist Healthcare Scientist (Band 7) to join our friendly and dedicated Neurophysiology team. The primary responsibility is to provide independent Intra-Operative Monitoring (IOM) during paediatric scoliosis correction surgeries, currently scheduled up to once a week (Tuesdays). When surgeries are not scheduled, you will undertake a range of neurophysiological investigations within the department.
Main duties of the job
Provide independent Intra-Operative Monitoring (IOM) during scoliosis correction surgeries at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, typically including Motor Evoked Potentials (MEPs) and Somatosensory Evoked Potentials (SSEPs).
When surgeries are not scheduled, you will undertake general neurophysiology duties, predominantly outpatient and inpatient EEGs (paediatric and adult), with potential involvement in nerve conduction studies, evoked potentials, and the setup/maintenance of video telemetry or ambulatory EEG monitors.
