Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint part-time Receptionists to join the A&E Department at Weston General Hospital.
We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic candidates who thrive in a busy and supportive working environment. The role of the Receptionist is integral to all that we do.
You must be able to greet patients, be approachable and empathetic to patient needs, while also working effectively under pressure. The role can sometimes be demanding, with telephone calls to answer alongside the needs of patients and other staff. It requires a significant amount of computer work, so high standards of speed and accuracy are essential.
We are recruiting for:
- 3 posts at 24 hours per week
- 1 post at 16 hours per week
These roles will work across 7 days a week, including weekends and bank holidays, on a rotating shift pattern:
- AM shift: 07:00 - 15:30
- PM shift: 15:30 - 00:00

Main duties of the job
To provide high quality reception services for the Trust and maintaining the highest standards of service delivery and customer care. Act as a first point of contact assistance to patients, relatives or other members of the public who attend or make contact by phone to the emergency department.
To organised their workload in accordance with the demands of the department.
To co-ordinate daily activities to ensure efficiency of service within the organisation.
To exercise initiative.
To ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times.

- ECDL, or equivalent qualification or experience of using computer systems and following Microsoft office packages - Word, Excel and Outlook

- Administrative qualification or working towards e.g. NVQ level 2, or equivalent qualification or experience
Knowledge

- Basic knowledge of NHS related legislation and codes of practice i.e. confidentiality and data protection
- A good understanding of how to work electrical equipment i.e. computers, photocopiers and printers
