We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sonographer to join our friendly and dedicated ultrasound team at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, part of the University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW).
This 11-month maternity cover post offers the chance to work in a busy, supportive, and forward-thinking paediatric radiology department.

The Bristol Royal Hospital for Children (BRHC) provides a local service for Bristol children and a referral service for specialist care for families across the South West and nationally
Candidates must hold a CASE accredited PgCert / Dip / MSc or DMU qualification in Medical Ultrasound or equivalent.
Full-time or part time will be considered, and flexible working arrangements are available and open for discussion.
Main duties of the job
Working as part of a highly skilled team, you will deliver a wide range of specialised paediatric ultrasound examinations, contributing to high-quality patient care across the following areas:
Abdominal, renal and pelvic imaging - including pre/post-pubertal uterine morphology and acute abdominal presentations such as appendicitis
Neonatal imaging - hips (required), spine and cranial ultrasound (preferred, but not essential)
Testicular ultrasound (preferred, but not essential)
Neck and thyroid imaging (preferred, but not essential)
MSK ultrasound (preferred, but not essential)
There is also the opportunity to gain experience in additional ultrasound techniques such as:
Liver elastography
Post-transplant liver/ renal imaging
Contrast ultrasound
