An opportunity has arisen with the Cancer Services Team and we are looking to recruit a new permanent full-time Cancer MDT Co-ordinator.
The Cancer MDT Co-ordinator Team in the Division of Surgery at University Hospitals Bristol is a busy department providing administrative and data services to surgical departments across the division. The role is to ensure patients are tracked throughout their cancer pathway, are treated in a timely fashion, meeting national targets and co-ordinate the weekly MDT meetings. Responsibility for ensuring patients move smoothly and in a timely fashion along their cancer pathway is another key component. This involves working closely with other departments to ensure appointments and investigations are arranged in a timely fashion.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will have a pivotal role in enabling the Trust and individual cancer teams to deliver a high standard of care and communication throughout the pathway. Effective tracking of the pathways will also facilitate the Trust in achieving National Cancer Waiting Times Standards, National Cancer Peer Review Measures and other appropriate standards.
Your role will involve working closely with clinicians, administrative staff and managers to ensure that weekly meetings are held in an effective way, and making sure outcomes are noted and acted upon. Keeping records complete and up to date at all times using a range of tools is a core task.
Enthusiasm, commitment and flexibility are required for this role along with good customer service and excellent organisational and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment with excellent attention to detail is absolutely essential.
The post holder will have responsibility for the organisation, delivery, and recording outcomes of the weekly multi-disciplinary team meeting(s) and follow up decisions taken.
The post holder is responsible for ensuring accurate information is electronically stored in a timely and coordinated manner. They will become an expert user of the Somerset Cancer Register.
