Job summary
We are a small Radiopharmacy team consisting of Healthcare Scientists, a Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technicians. The role involves working effectively as a team member in the production of radiopharmaceuticals under a MHRA Specials License and assisting in the provision of the service.The post holder will be a Science graduate or a qualified pharmacy technician preferably with experience of good manufacturing practice and aseptic dispensing.Radiopharmacy manufacture is done on a rotational basis and requires a 6.00am start with a 7am start on non-manufacturing days.
Weekend working and late shift work will be required
Main duties of the job
o Aseptically preparing, labelling, releasing, performing quality control on and supplying radiopharmaceuticals (including clinical trials) and radio-labelled blood products.o Assisting in the ordering, receipt, safe handling, dispatch, disposal and invoicing of radioactive products.o Assisting in the procurement and stock control of radiopharmaceuticals and other materials handled within the unit.o Assisting in environmental monitoring and cleaning in order to ensure compliance with 'good manufacturing practice' (GMP).o Preparing and maintaining worksheets, SOPs, records and other documentation associated with the above tasks.o Participating in the training of pre-registration pharmacists and other students.o Maintaining a standard of personal hygiene compatible with aseptic dispensing.o Attending such meetings and courses required in order to maintain currency and competency and to maintain a portfolio of continuing professional development.o Providing the service according to professional standards.o Participating in the good housekeeping required to keep the radiopharmacy facility clean, clear and safe.o Any other tasks commensurate with the post.
