Job summary
An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen for a Medical Rota Co-ordinator within the Division of Medicine at the University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust.
We need an enthusiastic and efficient individual to join the dynamic team in the Medical Rota Hub. You will be required to co-ordinate all grades of junior medical staff rotas within the division of Medicine. The successful candidate will be a crucial part of the team and will support the other rota coordinator, clinical and managerial leads in delivering a high quality support to the medical workforce. The Rota Hub manages the creation and delivery of rotas for the Division, staffing to an agreed level, providing accurate rosters and on-call rotas for junior medical staff. You will be responsible for accurately recording and acting upon planned and unplanned absences, such as leave or sickness and will be required to communicate with a wide range of disciplines, and possess an aptitude for negotiation and persuasion.
This vacancy is for a full-time post with working hours of 08:00 - 16:00 or a 9-day fortnight with compressed hours of 08:00 - 16:50. Part-time will also be considered. If you are enthusiastic, have excellent IT, communication and general administration skills and enjoy working in a team then we would like to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
You will need a flexible, proactive and thorough approach and be able to quickly form and maintain good working relationships with colleagues in different staff groups and at all grades. You should have the ability to think calmly and logically under pressure, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and have a positive attitude to maintaining high standards at all times. You will be quick to learn, be able to work as part of a team, and also possess the ability to work unsupervised using your own initiative.
