Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join an establish team of dental nurses within Oral medicine and Special care dentistry. We are looking for a dental nurse who is motivated, enthusiastic, and has great communication skills.

The post holder is required to cover theatre session once a week as a dental nurse, for special care patients that require surgery. We are looking for some one who works really well as part of a team, providing holistic care for patients with many different needs.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will carry out a full range of dental nursing duties and provide high quality dental care.Supporting a 'four handed dentistry' approach, you will anticipate the clinician's needs and any potentialcomplications which may arise. This will include assembly of equipment, mixing dental materials andholding instruments in position during procedures. Additionally, you will undertake specialist andcomplex tasks using your skills obtained through post qualification certification and training e.g.,conscious sedation, special care dentistry, oral health education and dental radiography.You will support the quality, safety and transformation of patient experience within your designateddental service and will be able to work flexibly across other dental services, including those delivered insatellite centres within the community.

  • Completion of enhanced dental nurse courses such as fluoride application
