Job summary

The pharmacy co-ordinator will be responsible for:

  • - Joint co-ordination of the BRI inpatient pharmacy
  • - Sole co-ordination of Pharmacy Distribution/Medicines Optimisation services.

The role will be split 50/50 between the two service areas listed above.

Main duties of the job

- Assist the pharmacy manager with the training of all staff, including encouraging and organising attendance on relevant recognised courses (NVQ, Buttercups/Bradford etc).

- Assist with the recruitment of pharmacy staff in line with Trust policies and procedures.

  • Ensure appropriate levels of staff cover by being involved in annual leave approval and study leave.

- Responsible for arranging regular destruction of controlled drugs with a representative of the Trust Board in attendance and maintaining monthly CD stock checks

Assist the pharmacy manager/operations manager and the pharmacy support services manager with monitoring workload and ensure workload is managed consistently throughout the day by the effective deployment of staff.
