Job summary

UHBW are looking for a Specialty dentist in Special care dentistry to join their team. The successful candidate will primarily have a clinical role delivering treatment under LA and conscious sedation, as well as attending outpatient assessment / screening clinics. This role would suit an individual who is already experienced within the field of Special care dentistry, treating complex patients in both primary and secondary care and is looking to build on this experience. This is a part-time post (4 sessions/week ~ 16 hours) on a 12-months fixed contract.

Main duties of the job

The appointee/s will join the Special Care team (SCD) which consists of 2 consultants, 3 specialty registrars, 1 Specialist,1 specialty dentist and 2 DCT's. The department provides local and regional SCD services for adults. This includes screening services for medially complex patients (cardiac/ BMT / oncology patients beginning anti-resorptive drugs) and comprehensive care under GA/IVS/IS/ LA.

Alongside patient care the appointee's role will involve mentorship and teaching for the Dental Core Trainees and registrars. There will be opportunities to participate in clinical audit, research, teaching and service improvement projects.
