Job summary

Emergency Department Sister/Charge Nurse

The adult Emergency Department are looking to recruit a band 7 senior nurse.

The Bristol Royal Infirmary Adult Emergency department is a thriving busy department, in the heart of the city of Bristol.

Do you have experience working in emergency medicine? Are you an expert in assessment, a quick thinking problem solver who has strong leadership qualities?

Are you willing to learn and to teach others? Then this is the job for you.

Main duties of the job

  • Ensuring safety checks are completed
  • Maintaining standards through audits
  • Ensuring safe staffing of the emergency department
  • Clinically assessing to help identify sick and deteriorating patients
  • ensuring sepsis targets are met
  • Providing clinical support to staff on duty
  • Maintaining oversight of all areas of the emergency department
  • Ensure clear communication within the department and externally with patient flow
  • Support with clinical emergencies
  • Ensure patients have plans and facilitate flow
