Job summary
This role entails supporting the work of the Sexual Health Advising, Chlamydia Screening and Medical teams, by understanding and co-ordinating test result processes within the service. Reporting to the Chlamydia Screening Officer, you will be working in a busy environment with regular and clear communication with clinical teams. You will ensure test results from different sources are appropriately managed by informing patients, staff and key stakeholders of results and processes. You will regularly liaise with the UKSHA Pathology lab to chase results. Acting as an administrative and information resource for test and recall processes, you will also be key in identifying any testing issues that arise and reporting them appropriately. You will be based within a busy office; however hybrid remote working is available at the discretion of your manager and service needs.
Main duties of the job
Email and Records Management:
- Daily management of the Sexual Health email inbox, including sorting, actioning relevant items, and transferring remaining items to the appropriate parties.
- Setting up and maintaining patient records, including uploading test results and managing recalls.
- Working directly alongside the Health Adviser and Chlamydia Screening teams to ensure comprehensive results management.
- Aiding in the implementation of a new electronic patient record system as required.
Results and Recalls Management:
- Daily review and reconciliation of test results from the central clinic, online tests and chlamydia screening.
- Liaising with internal lab and UKSHA Pathology lab as necessary.
- Ensuring all results are back and actioned within the required timeframe.
- Regular management of various clinical recalls, ensuring appropriate follow-ups and actions are taken.
- Identifying problems or issues that arise within the results processing system and reporting them appropriately.
Ad Hoc Tasks:
- Chasing up outstanding/urgent results
- Producing patient documents when requested
- Supporting User Service Group work
- Contacting patients for survey feedback
- Liaising with Trust HQ for clinic supplies.
