Band 5 Registered Senior Dental Nurse
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a senior dental nurse to join the Child Dental health and Cleft department.
As a senior dental nurse you will be expected to demonstrate a high level of autonomy, excellent communication skills and professionalism. Proactively working within a busy multi-disciplinary team. You will support the Dental Nurse Manager and clinical department to ensure safe staffing levels and support where needed.
For those applicants working towards a post qualification this will be a developmental role, paid at the top of Band 4 until completion of their qualification when they will move to Band 5.
Main duties of the job
Clinical - Communication and Relationship skills
To communicate and co-ordinate effectively with appropriate clinicians, staff, professional bodies and external agencies.Demonstrate politeness, courtesy and sensitivity when providing care for patients, relatives and colleagues.Contribute to sharing good practice within the department and hospital trust wide sites, working as a member of the dental department, and will be expected to undertake a wide range of dental nurse duties on all sites.

- National certificate in Dental Nursing (or equivalent Level 3 Dental Nursing qualification)
- Valid GDC registration
- Post registration qualification in Conscious Sedation, Special Care Dentistry, Oral Health Education and Dental Radiography, Implantology or Orthodontics or working towards
Desirable
- Completion of enhanced dental nurse courses such as fluoride application
Knowledge and Experiance

- Enhanced knowledge of a range of dental nursing procedures
- Experience of assisting with a diverse range of patients
