As part of the UHBWFoundation Pharmacist Development pathwaywe have an exciting new role within UHBW Pharmacy Technical Services. This pathway provides experiences via rotations, supervision and projects to equip newly qualified pharmacists with the skills and knowledge to be able to progress to the next level in their career in pharmacy technical services.

Our program includes:

  • 4-month rotations in Pharmacy Production, Parenteral Services Unit, Radiopharmacy Unit and Pharmacy Quality Control.
  • You will gain experience in a wide range of products from Gene therapy, radiopharmaceuticals, cytotoxics, monoclonal antibodies, parenteral nutrition and clinical trials
  • You will gain experience of working with a MS licenced and Section 10 units
  • Developmental support via funded PTQA place
  • Nominated Mentor to support your learning
  • 37.5 hrs per week, Monday to Friday. No Emergency Duty Commitment (EDC) or bank holidays.

Main duties of the job

This role forms part of the UHBW Foundation Pharmacist Development pathway will provide experiences via rotations, supervision and projects to equip newly qualified pharmacists with the skills and knowledge to be able to progress within pharmacy technical services. This is a training pharmacist post to enable a pharmacist to gain and understanding of all aspects of Pharmacy technical services. The post holder will gain experience of working within a Specials (MS) and Investigational Medicinal Product licenses MIA(IMP) Licienced unit as well as dispensing medicines under Section 10 Exemption of The Medicines Act. The post holder will progress through 4 month rotations within the Pharmacy Technical Service Departments including PPU, PSU, QA/QC and RP, setting and monitoring objectives with their rotational supervisor.
