UHBW has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, well-motivated and progressive thinking individual to lead and manage the Central Sterile Services Department located in the centre of Bristol.

Applicants must:

  • have current/previous team management experience at band 6 or equivalent in a sterile services or decontamination setting
  • be able to manage a busy and variable workload

The permanent, full time position is suited to an individual who is looking to advance their career in Sterile Services management and further develop their existing people management and decontamination skills and knowledge.

Main duties of the job

  • To lead, line manage and support the Central Sterile Services Department Team in the delivery of a safe, responsive, efficient and effective decontamination service of medical devices and surgical instruments for in excess of 65 internal and external customers.
  • Have overall responsibility for: the decontamination of medical devices and for ensuring that the department retains its ISO and MDR accreditation.
  • Work within: the CSSD Quality Management System, ISO 13485/Medical Device Regulations, Policies and Procedures.To liaise with all user departments on all matters pertaining to decontamination and sterilisation and providing advice where required.
  • Be responsible for actively managing sickness absence and other HR duties including appraisals, recruitment and retention, disciplinary and grievance issues.
