Job summary
University Hospitals Bristol & Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) seeks applicants for a Clinical Teaching Fellow to commence in September 2024 (or as soon as can be arranged) for one year at ST3+ level, or post MRCPCH. OOPE may be required for paediatric trainees.
Eight sessions each week are allocated for teaching within undergraduate medical education and two clinical sessions per week for clinical work at an appropriate level reflecting the successful candidate's clinical interests.
Main duties of the job
The post provides an ideal opportunity for the successful candidate to work in a highly active undergraduate clinical teaching setting which is part of a busy inner city university hospital. The successful candidate will be part of the South Bristol Academy team, also working in the Bristol Children's Hospital, will be actively involved in organising and delivering undergraduate medical education on behalf of the University of Bristol, and will be encouraged to undertake a funded Certificate in Teaching & Learning for Health Professionals at the University. 8 sessions each week are allocated for teaching undergraduate medical education and 2 sessions are allocated for clinical service in a specialty area of their choice.
This appointment will be subject to the Terms and Conditions of Service of Trust grade Doctors (2017) and may be subject to amendment.
