Job summary

The Bristol Royal Infirmary (BRI) has an exciting opportunity, due to the expansion of our Critical Care Unit. We are looking for a highly motivated band 7 to join the Practice Education Team as a clinical educator.

With a brand-new build, and expansion of the critical care footprint, there is no better time to join UHBW. We are commissioned for the Bristol ECMO service, covering the South-West region in conjunction with North Bristol Trust, as well as having an established Outreach and Research team.

The successful applicant must have extensive experience of current intensive care practice, in conjunction with a strong background of clinical governance.

You will join our team of Band 7 Practice Education Facilitators to provide high-quality care for a diverse group of patients of multiple specialism, from across the region. We are a tertiary referral centre for many specialities such as; Thoracic's, ENT, GI surgery, oncology, cardiac and ECMO. This incorporates emergencies, planned elective care and long-term rehabilitation for critically unwell patients.

As a unit we are committed to development and opportunities for all of our staff which is supported by our innovative practice education team.

Main duties of the job

Within the Practice Education role, you will workclosely with the senior nursing team and wider MDT to co-ordinate, plan and implementprofessional education and training for the critical care nursing workforce. By providing aclinical presence, you will support staff and facilitate achievement of professional objectives.

By ensuring clinical support, progressive job satisfaction and opportunities, you will support staff retention and strategic overviewof developing future roles in critical care.

Informed by training needs analysis documents and data, considered formulation of training plans will be a fundamental aspect of the role.
