Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band6 CTradiographer tojoin our professional friendly CT team within University Hospitals Bristol Foundation Trust.
The work is varied and specialised as the Trust has the status as a Major trauma Centre and is also a tertiary Cardiac Centre. We have a mixture of Siemen's Definition AS and Canon CT scanners across our sites with more on the way.
The department gained QSI (Quality Standard for Imaging) accreditation in 2018 and continue to maintain the high standards every year. The successful candidate will be expected to ensure that the required standards of imaging, patient care and record keeping are maintained.
As a band 6 you will be required to work in all of the CT scanners currently in use over all sites and participate in the current shift system covering weekday and weekends. The outpatient setting covers 8am to 8pm during the week, and 8-430pm on weekends and bank holidays. The acute setting operates 24/7 and there is a commitment to cover night shifts, weekends and Bank Holidays.
You will also be responsible for mentoring junior staff including Apprentice Radiographers, Student Radiographers and Radiographic |Assistants, as well as supporting the senior CT team.

Main duties of the job
- To produce high quality images across the spectrum of CT examinations.- To manage and support the band 5 Radiographers and students- To ensure the smooth operation of the CT Radiology service- To be responsible for the standards of care provided within the CT Department- In collaboration with the (line manager), ensure resources are monitored and tailored to meet the needs of the service within the constraints of a financial budget.- To promote education and training within CT- Keep up to date competency records
-Actively participate in CPD- To provide a 24/7 service to support the emergency department CT and plain film imaging to enable a consistently safe and efficient service.
- Participation in the out of hours rotation will commence after a full 3 month induction period.
