General Respiratory
The successful candidate would be joining the respiratory department at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. The appointee will contribute to the activities of the department on a rotating basis with other consultants, including care of general and Level 2 respiratory inpatients, "Hot clinic", bronchoscopy, general respiratory and sub specialist clinics.
Sleep and Home Ventilation
The Sleep and Home Ventilation Department located at the Bristol Royal Infirmary is the regional tertiary centre for the diagnosis and management of sleep disordered breathing and chronic respiratory failure. It is one of the largest departments of its kind in the country, providing care for approximately 8000 patients on CPAP and 600 on NIV. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic and inspiring team including, an advanced physiotherapy practitioner, a dedicated sleep physiology team, and physiotherapy and nursing staff specialised in NIV management.
The home ventilation team form an integral part of the South West Neuromuscular Operational Delivery Network, providing regional care for patients with neuromuscular disorders and joint neurology and ventilation multidisciplinary meetings are run on a monthly basis. We also work in close collaboration with paediatricians at Bristol Children's Hospital, running joint transition clinics for young people with complex sleep disordered breathing.

General Internal Medicine
The successful appointee will participate in the general medicine on-call Rota. This is staffed by acute physicians and consultant physicians for the respiratory, gastroenterology, hepatology, care of the elderly and diabetes and endocrinology departments, supported by a full quota of medical trainees. All the respiratory consultants, including this post, currently have on-call duties as part of the general medical on-call rota; as well as respiratory weekend cover.

- Fully registered with the GMC
- Must be on the GMC's Specialist Register or an SpR must provide documentary evidence that they will be enrolled within 6 months CCT in both General (internal) Medicine and Respiratory Medicine
- MRCP(UK), or recognised equivalent qualification

- MRCP(UK), or recognised equivalent qualification
- Attendance at a management training course and evidence of having learnt from it.
Communications and language skills

- Spoken and written English must be at the highest level.
