Job summary
The Parenteral Services Unit (PSU) of the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Band 2 Specialist Cleaner, who is keen to provide service support to our busy aseptic unit. The unit provides cytotoxic chemotherapy treatments and Parenteral Nutrition to the BHOC, St. Michael's Hospital, and the Bristol Royal Children's Hospital.
You will be joining our dynamic team of pharmacists, technicians and assistants at an exciting and challenging time in developing a first class aseptic service. You will be working alongside a team of 2 other specialist cleaners tohelp maintain our cleanroom standards.
Good communication & interpersonal skillswould beideal, and you must be motivated, flexible, adaptable, and able to work well in a team.Previous specialist cleaningexperience is not essential as full training will be given on employment.
This role is suitable for applications from school or college leavers, and anyone who is interested in working in this field. A visit to the department prior to, or whilst applying for this post is highly recommended.
Main duties of the job
- Undertaking the specialist cleaning of the cleanroom areas and equipment, as defined by departmental standard operating procedures.
- Supporting aseptic preparation activities include: daily record keeping; receipt, transfer, and storage of medicines, consumables and cleaning materials; delivery of products to wards; stock control; and maintenance of records.
- All duties must be carried out in accordance with the standard operating procedures.
- The post holder is to ensure all matters of concern are reported to the Lead or Senior Technicians/ Technical Officers and liaise with other members of the staff on cleanroom / support issues.
