Job summary

As a registered nurse in the outpatients department at South Bristol Community Hospital, you will be expected to work across the various clinics, including working in our day case infusion unit where we provide infusions for patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

We are a nurse led unit, and we strive to provide an exceptional level of patient care and a positive patient experience for all our patients.

We welcome applications from registered nurses who hold a current NMC registration and PIN. As we are a small nurse led unit, we are looking for nurses with the relevant knowledge, skills, competencies and experience to join our team.

We are looking for a motivated individual, who will work well within a team and autonomously within their scope of practice. Positive attitude and willingness to embrace change are key values within the nursing team.Being part of our small team, you will need to work flexibly across the operational hours (currently Monday to Friday 8am - 6pm).

Main duties of the job

Delivering safe and effective direct patient care across all the various outpatient clinics, especially our day case infusion service.

Undertaking a range of clinical skills within professional scope of practice, including : nursing assessments, vital observations, ECGs, phlebotomy, medication management, administering injections, cannulation and delivery of IV infusions.

Effectively and safely manage the care for deteriorating patients and escalate appropriately according to Trust guidelines and procedures.

Working with the multi professional team to assess, deliver, monitor and evaluate clinical care in line with service and patient needs.

Work towards regularly taking charge of the department on occasion prioritising workload according to changing clinical need during outpatient department operational hours.
