Job summary

The Divisional AP Lead will support the divisional senior team to provide highly specialised, expert advice, consultancy and clinical expertise.They will provide clinical leadership and support for AP services and medical associate professions teams.

They will play a key role in the development of advanced practice at a local trust and regional level supporting the trust AP lead and the trust AHP lead in the strategic development of AP services across the division.

The Divisional Lead will work closely with Pier Health and Sirona to support collaborative working within One Weston locality partnership which forms part of the BNSSG ICB with a vision to rotate APs through the system to achieve working in a boundaryless system.

The post holder will practice as a senior clinician.They will work across the department where their expertise lies practicing independently and autonomously with minimal or no supervision.They will deliver a 50% clinical component to their role and 50% related to their AP divisional management, leadership, innovation, and educational responsibilities.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead on the Divisional development of AP team across WSM whilst supporting and shaping the future service design and development. The Divisional AP Lead will perform at an advanced level under the core capabilities across the four pillars of Advanced Practice (Health Education England Multi-Professional Framework 2017).

To lead a team of Advanced Practitioners and trainee's and provide clinical, professional, and managerial leadership across Weston General Hospital in relation to advanced practice. The post holder will provide strategic leadership for the recruitment, training, supervision, and retention of the AP workforce in Weston General Hospital. The successful candidate will act as Senior AP / AP Lead for Weston General Hospital, providing a strong clinical presence and developing advanced practice, assuring the provision of a safe, effective and evidence based advanced practice to patients.

The successful candidate will deliver a job plan to support the 4 pillars. A minimum of 50% clinical component, with the remainder related to management, service development, clinical audit, educational strategy, teaching, self-development, and research.

The successful candidate will be required to have evidence of advanced leadership, change management, innovation and experience in education and developing staff.
