Job summary

University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an HR advisor to join the team.

There are vacancies available for a 12 month fixed term position and an 18 month fixed term position.

The HR Advisors play a key role in the management of employee relations and related activity, managing a range of sickness absence cases, disciplinary investigations, performance management and other matters, as well as providing day-to-day HR advice to managers and staff.

As part of the HR Services team, the post holder will also work closely with the divisional HR Specialists, HR Business Partners and operational managers for the services it supports. Our team pride themselves on providing great customer service and we are looking for an HR practitioner who will fit in with the team's ethos.

Main duties of the job

You will have a high standard of written and verbal communication with strict attention to detail. You must be able to demonstrate excellent time management, with the ability to organize your time effectively to meet competing and often changing deadlines, together with an ability to build effective relationships with line managers and have a proactive and positive attitude.

You will be CIPD qualified or working towards a CIPD qualification, or have the equivalent level of experience, with a strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR systems, practices and processes.

Depending on the experience of the applicant, this can be a developmental role spanning Band 4 to 5 to enable career progression through a gateway, based upon essential criteria such as qualification and experience.

  • English and Maths GCSE or equivalent
