Job summary

We have an exciting, fixed term opportunity for a Senior Digital Communications Officer to join our Communications team. Reporting to a Digital Communications Manager, you'll manage the planning, creation, and scheduling of engaging digital content for our website, intranet and social media. A key part of the role is developing and supporting new digital engagement platforms for stakeholders, patients, visitors and colleagues that will play a pivotal role in delivering our new communications strategy. You will use platform analytics and user feedback to measure performance and continuously improve our digital content.You'll already be working in a digital communications role and be experienced in developing and delivering digital communications strategies. You will also have extensive social media management experience.

Main duties of the job

  • Report to the Digital Communications Manager and support them in the management and upkeep of all digital communications content and platforms.
  • Manage the planning of digital communications across social media and website using content calendars and plans.
  • Implement the day-to-day running of digital communications projects and platforms and ensure the quality of all outputs meets the objectives set in the Communications Strategy.
  • Create engaging digital content including short social media videos, gifs, photography and high-quality written content.
  • Use analytics and user research to measure content performance and make improvements. Prepare communications reports which demonstrate outcomes.
  • Act as the lead point of contact for the Trust's internal and external digital communities. Growing communities using targeted campaigns and approaches, monitoring comments and responding as required to ensure platforms remain a positive experience for all users.
  • Create packages of engaging content to use in targeted digital campaigns.
  • Support the Digital Communications Manager with the process of commissioning and creating new digital platforms, including a new website, intranet and internal social media network. Provide project management support to scope options, assess providers against requirements and to implement chosen systems including content design.
