Applications are sought for the role of Senior Commissioning and Planning Manager within the Strategy and Transformation team at UHBW.

As a Senior Commissioning and Planning Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting divisional and clinical teams to successfully plan the development and delivery of their services, and manage relationships with commissioners to ensure the best pathways are in place for patients. The role provides an exciting opportunity to gain experience of working strategically within the Trust, as well as helping to drive cross-system innovation and change, at a time of change within the NHS as we move to working more cohesively with our system partners and the Integrated Care System becomes more established.

The team are based in Bristol Trust HQ and offer flexible working including both on site and from home.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide high quality commissioning and business planning expertise to the Trust
  • To play a key role in the coordination of the internal Annual Planning Process, including taking the lead on specific tasks and advising Divisions, as directed by the senior team.
  • To ensure that performance against operational plans is subject to robust monitoring, variances are understood and action planning is initiated by Divisions in order to minimise risks.
  • To lead on a portfolio of contracts, including negotiation, interpretation and monitoring of contracts, providing reports alongside ad hoc programmes and projects.
  • Support the development, delivery and monitoring of the Trust Strategy as required.
  • Provide programme support to the portfolio management approach to the delivery of the Trust Strategy and business planning processes.
  • To prepare reports relating to the Trust's strategic and planning processes as required.
  • To seek business development opportunities for the Trust and co-ordinate the submission of tenders, providing support and advice to bid teams
  • Lead on the management of specific commissioning and service planning related projects as required, using appropriate project management methodologies
