Job summary

Are you an experienced midwife? Are you ready to step up and make your mark in a specialist midwifery role? Do you want to work in a forward thinking NHS Foundation Trust.

Applicants will be existing Band 6/7 practising midwives who work with members of the multidisciplinary team. This role will involve working with the regional team looking at all aspects of improving retention and recruitment within the maternity services across Bristol and Weston.

The role will involve looking at data to identify specific areas of concern within retention and recruitment.

Are you friendly and approachable? There as will be a requirement to initiate and maintain positive working relationships with all members of the maternity team, to ensure honest and accurate feedback. This will be achieved by 'stayers' and leavers' interviews.

The role will also entail close monitoring of the Midwifery Establishment and initiating recruitment campaigns in response to known vacancies.

Main duties of the job

The role of the Specialist Midwife for Retention and Recruitment is to promote and support working at UHBW. This will be achieved by creating a supportive environment to encourage retention of the maternity workforce.

Knowledge of the TRAC system would be desirable to manage applicants throughout the employment process.

Experience of conducting interviews and supporting others with the process will also be required.

The successful applicant will be required to work within an existing experienced team and ensure excellent communication and a willingness to help develop staff for the future.

It is essential that the applicant is a registered Midwife and holds a driving licence and is a car driver.
