Job summary

The UHBW Communications team is embarking on an exciting journey to transform the way we communicate and engage with our staff, patients and the public. This creative professional role will play an important role in bringing our plans to life, visually and verbally, and inspiring colleagues to think creatively in their approach to campaigns.

The post holder will be a hands-on designer with proven experience in providing guidance and direction, bringing creative leadership to the Communications team, while creating effective campaigns across multiple communications platforms.

Main duties of the job

As the conceptual and creative lead for the Communication team, the post holder will support the delivery of effective and engaging communications objectives. A talented creative professional with the skills and experience to inspire people and articulate our brand, the postholder will be the lead contact for creating designs and concepts on multiple internal and external Trust communication platforms.

  • Holds a professional postgraduate qualification in graphic design or equivalent relevant experience
  • Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent relevant experience
  • Evidence of continued professional development

Knowledge and Experience

  • Significant experience in a senior design/creative role
  • Specialist knowledge of and extensive experience of working with a wide range of industry standard design programmes eg Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Specialist knowledge and experience of producing a wide range of innovative, high-quality written and visual content for a variety of audiences and a variety of digital and print channels, using the latest design and visual information techniques
  • Experience of successfully adapting campaigns and plans to ensure continued alignment with programme or initiative and stakeholder requirements as they develop
  • Experience of commissioning high-quality design materials and of managing external contractors (design agencies, photographers etc).
  • Demonstrable ability to deliver solutions for highly sensitive issues in a complex environment
