Job summary

Applications are invited for a Clinical Fellow post in the Department of HPB Surgery at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW). This full time, fixed-term post is for12 months.The post holder will be based at the Bristol Royal Infirmary.This post is suitable for trainee surgeons at any point in higher surgical training that wish to gain more experience in specialist HPB surgery. The post will provide experience in specialist hepatobiliary surgery and general surgical emergency surgery.The post will be part of the Specialist Registrar General Surgery rota and attract pay as per the new junior doctor contract.

Main duties of the job

Applications are invited for one full time Clinical Fellow post in Hepatobiliary Surgery based within the Division of Surgery at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. We are one of the UK's leading HPB centres with an international reputation for healthcare research. You will be joining a team lead by seven Consultant HPB surgeons who have a strong team-based approach to patient care.

It is expected that the successful appointee will have spent time training as a General Surgeon to the level of ST3 or above. The post-holder will also have responsibilities to develop and contribute to continuing education, professional development, audit and research within the Division and Trust.

This post is a 6 month contract with the potential to be extended to 12.
