Our Paediatric Bone Marrow Transplant programme is one of the largest dedicated paediatric programmes in the entire United Kingdom. It serves the entire Southwest region, Oxford, Southampton, Cambridge, Norfolk and Northern Ireland.
The programme performs approximately 30 allogeneic transplants and 5- autologous transplants per year (autologous transplants are performed by the oncology team).
With strong links to the University of Bristol and University of West of England we are the major medical research centre in the region. The findings allow us to continually improve our patient care.
Our academic links also make us the largest centre for medical training in the Southwest, attracting the highest calibre clinical staff from across the UK. Staff throughout the Trust are involved in a thriving research portfolio, comprising around 450 varied, pioneering projects resulting in approximately 600 published papers each year.

Main duties of the job
- Have specialist HSCT experience, covering all HSCT specific training as described by the current 6th edition of JACIE/FACT standards.
- Have experience in teaching and training registrars rotating within the department
- Have the ability to take the lead when caring for children and their families
- Have exceptional communication skills and work together in a multidisciplinary team
- Enthusiastic about continuous improvement and developing the service in terms of novel treatment developments in the field of Stem Cell Transplant, Cellular therapies and Gene therapies

- Full and Specialist registration with a licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC), or evidence at the interview time to be eligible for registration within six months of interview
- Applicants that are UK trained, must ALSO be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview
