Job summary

The Clinical Research Network West of England is seeking a Research Nurse to support an exciting initiative to increase the research opportunities available to patients and service users in primary care, social care and other community settings. The post holder will be based in Bristol, and will be an integral part of the CRN West of England Research facilitation within Community and Health settings (WE ReACH) Team, involved in study set up, data management and research delivery at research sites across the CRN West of England patch.

About the Clinical Research Network The NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN) coordinates and supports the delivery of clinical research in the NHS and the wider health and social care environment, and supports patients, the public, and health and care organisations across England to participate in high-quality research, thereby advancing knowledge and improving care. Main duties of the job

The post holder needs to be a flexible, motivated team player ideally with some understanding of clinical research delivery and associated legislation. The work requires initiative, accuracy, attention to detail and excellent time management. The post holder will be networking with a broad professional group, including Clinicians, Research Nurses, Research and Development staff, Trial Managers and Investigators both locally, in the network and in external Clinical Trials Units.

There is a requirement to uphold the NIHR objective to increase the opportunities for patients and the public to participate in, and benefit from, research and drive faster translation of scientific discoveries into tangible benefits for patients. The role is based in Bristol but will involve travel to research sites, meetings and conferences across the CRN West of England patch and nationally as required. The successful candidate will need to be adaptable in their work patterns to deliver study requirements.
