Stock Controller

Job summary

The Stock Controller will be reporting to the inventory management supervisor and will be responsible for maintaining the stock levels in their respective designated clinical areas. You will ensure stock levels are available and maintained via the IMS in use.

You will manage 6000 SKUs, with a total value of £160,000 and receive and distribute over 1050 parcels monthly. You will provide inventory management support in order to ensure business continuity and facilitate emergency planning; this will involve the ordering of emergency goods and services.

Main duties of the job

Your role will include:

  • Management of inventory across assigned areas
  • Manage key working relationships with staff nurses and departmental managers to ensure effective communication regarding Inventory
  • To ensure necessary product returns occur in a timely manner through liaison with suppliers
  • To have awareness and sight of different lead times for suppliers re their goods - monitor and respond accordingly when these are not being met in accordance with laid down procedures.
  • To receive, unpack and store safely inward coming goods from PUSH stock, including inspecting all received good to ensure they have been received in an acceptable manger
  • To ensure stock rotation occurs when unpacking stock. To ensure stock rotation, safe disposal and or relocation of surplus, redundant and obsolete stock occurs as directed by supervisor.
