ICNARC (Intensive Care National Audit & Research Centre) focuses on people who are likely to become, currently are, or are recovering from being critically ill. The data collected, analysed, audited, and submit to ICANARC supports Adult Critical Care at UHBW & ICNARC to ensure the best possible care by facilitating improvements in the structure, processes, outcomes, and experiences of critical care - for patients and for those who care for them.

The post holder will be working collaboratively as part of an MDT (multi-disciplinary team) and be required to develop a strong network with stake holders from the Medical teams, nursing teams, and support services (such as AHP and IT).

Main duties of the job

The post holder is required to ensure leadership and ongoing development of the ICNARC and CCMDS data base system always ensuring the accuracy and validity of the data submission.

The post holder will require a proactive and dynamic approach to data analysis and reporting ensuring that key quality indicators on the critical care unit are recognised and where a shortfall of these standards is detected this is reported to the senior nurse for critical care and lead consultant.

The post holder will directly line manage the ICNARC & CCMDS System Administrators and ensure the overall ICNARC & CCMDS System team deliver against the required reporting standards.

The post holder will support the Assistant General Managers of Adult Critical Care (including the General Intensive Care unit and the Cardiac Intensive Care unit) in developing monthly KPI (key performance indicators) reports to be delivered at monthly governance and executive meetings.

The post will work with both internal and external key stakeholders to ensure CIS (clinical information systems) that relate to ICNARC are working and delivering in line with agreed policies and procedures.
