Division of Surgery, Band 6, Clinical Procurement Specialist.
Division of surgery has a new exciting new role for a band 6 Clinical Procurement Specialist.
The post holder will lead and support the Division of Surgery Theatre Suite, with the sourcing and procurement of goods, equipment and services required for continuous service delivery, using revenue and/or capital budgets. Working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, you will lead a programme of activity to ensure value for money procurement of high-quality goods and services whilst realising cost savings wherever possible. A key aspect to the role will be to identify and implement standardisation and rationalisation of goods and services, ensuring that the most cost-effective, clinically appropriate products are used wherever possible.
The post holder will act as a specialist resource to advise others on correct processes to be followed regarding purchase of goods and services, including adherence to the Trust Standing Financial Instructions. With financial responsibility as an authorised user of the Trust's Electronic Ordering and Requisitioning System (EROS), the post holder will also oversee and manage New Product Requests.

Main duties of the job
- Lead and work in collaboration with theatre managers and others on the procurement and purchase of non-pay goods and services required by theatres
- Work closely and collaboratively with the lead for the Managed Inventory System (MIS)
- Work closely and collaboratively with Bristol and Weston Purchasing Consortium (BWPC) colleagues to ensure high quality products and services are procured, along with realising value for money and support consumable trails and evaluations
- Have oversight of divisional New Product Requests: review, compare, analyse, and seek clarity around request prior to sign off
- Contribute to and report on CIP savings for theatres
- Report on and manage consignment stock in theatres ensuring expenditure is logged, managed, accurate and reportable
Capital
- Act as a key resource for theatre staff and managers, providing advice and support for the purchase of goods and services.
- Gain approval of repairs from budget manager/matron
- Have oversight of clinical evaluations and trials in theatres, taking the lead where necessary and in collaboration with BWPC, overseeing commercial tenders of equipment and products required for service delivery

- Work to ensure all kit expenditure is logged, managed, accurate and reportable.
