Weston General Hospital is developing into a thriving hospital at the heart of the community. This is a new position as part of the Healthy Weston 2 programme which involves the development of safe, high-quality and sustainable emergency and planned care accessible to the local people.

Main duties of the job
University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust seeks applicants for the expansion of the senior medical team in Emergency Medicine to commence as soon as possible. The specialist doctor post provides eligible individuals an ideal opportunity for continued professional development within the recently expanded Department of Emergency Medicine (ED), which forms the Trust's emergency "front door".
This is a 10PA post providing 7.5 DCC, 1 management DCC and 1.5 SPA.Clinical sessions will involve working on the shop-floor, directing the care of patients, seeing new patients (both major & minor), running the Emergency department Observation Unit and supporting SDEC.
The Emergency Medicine team is rapidly expanding at all grades and is a friendly, exciting and dynamic place to work. The senior team have a range of special interests and all help to provide an educational and supportive environment to the entire multidisciplinary team. The Emergency department is open from 0800 - 2200 for new patients but the Emergency medicine team provide on-site support 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the on-call rota in conjunction with consultant colleagues to ensure that appropriate Emergency services are provided 24 hours a day.
